Transferring Automations to Global Regular Users

Currently, Automations are only able to be transferred from any type of user to a Global Admin. But we need to be able to transfer Automations to Global Regular Users. Some use cases:

  • Someone leaves the company and we need to move their Automations to someone else on their team who is a Regular User (and not one of the Global Admins).
  • Our Admins build automations for a team, but cannot currently transfer ownership of Automations to those team mates so they can own and edit them going forward.
  • An Automation is broken, so an Admin takes it over, but then cannot transfer it back to the Regular User that should own the automation.

What do you think, folks? Seems like a necessary change to make Automations more manageable!

Hey @Josh Monifi ! That whole passing of automations is a mess really. An automation should really be just triggering for other users and I as an admin should be able to determine which users should trigger it. While of course all steps involving user's email accounts should work as intended. I.e. sending out emails thru their accounts, etc.

This passing of ownership, not being able to edit automations is such a nuisance. The argument of "security" and that admins might do something illicit is quite insulting :)

Hope this changes one day and making automations will be as much fun as it is in HubSpot.
