Does anyone know how to create contacts without creating a deal?

If you go to the contacts tab on the left and then go into the People tab then click the green +Person at the top left
let me know how you get on

Minhaz is correct, ignore deals and enter individual contacts under the contact tab... the deals can come later.
Also if you import a list of contacts (.csv file) they are "registered" as a contact and not as a deal.

@Minhaz Moosa - thanks for replying! I have been doing this and deals are created. it makes Pipedrive difficult to use. If you sync contacts then deals are autocreated as well.

@Alan McTighe ignoring deals won't work for us. Importing contacts only creates more deals. There has to be a way to break this association. You should be able to have contacts without a deal.

hI @John Shelburne not sure what is going on your end. I honestly don't have the issue. I can create contacts individually or import them in bulk and no Deal is created. What I see when adding individually is as follows (some standard and a few added fields), when I import I field match (choosing to ignore some fields) and create the contacts in bulk - no deal results. I can add additional details as needed and create the deal from the individual contact as needed through generated results from contact activity.

Oh, I see somebody has suggested the same... don't field match a non-existent deal!! :-)
