how to get the creation and close date without time stamp

I am trying to run a report to see how long (days) each deal takes to close, the goal is to see the company average and also by customers (organization). Currently the creation and close data both have time stamp when I download the data into excel even though in insight view, the creation and close date showed only the dates.

But once download the data into excel,

    You can always extract just the date part from a date-time field in Excel.
