Double Opt In Webform for Campaigns
Comments

I thought I was missing something obvious when I tried to get a normal workflow for automatically obtaining DOI consents. A process that has been standard in every email tool for years:
- User subscribes to an email list.
- User AUTOMATICALLY receives a double opt-in email.
- User confirms their email address via the link in the double opt-in email.
- The user can now receive emails (status DOI - subscriber).
I can't believe that after all these years and all the comments, Pipedrive still hasn't integrated this function.
How can you get the idea that the current process (users can have the status "subscribed" but no DOI?! - DOI mails can only be sent out manually?!) has any use whatsoever?
Sorry, but I'm almost shocked. This makes Pipedrive absolutely useless when it comes to campaigns.
PS
It's bordering on a joke when you consider that Pipedrive itself describes the behaviour in a blog post in exactly the same way as they don't offer it themselves ...
Translated from german:
"Double opt-in (DOI for short) is the safest option for email marketing from a legal perspective. Here, the user enters their email address in a contact form and, in a second step, receives an email with an activation link, which they must click on to verify the opt-in again. This means that a second consent is given, which is why it is referred to as double opt-in."3 -
Pipedrive,
Has there been any progress on this?
Currently, Campaigns is an unusable feature that's not worth paying for.
I wanted to be able to track user engagement with our email campaigns better than we can with Mailchimp. So far, the experience of trying to set up pipedrive campaigns is a disaster.Critically missing functionality:
• Ability to import subscriber status from MailChimp, including DOI status
• Ability to customise the DOI template
• Option to set a prospects marketing status to subscribed when they complete a web form
• No DOI automation or ability to add the DOI template to an automationIn today's marketing environment, good Campaign management and reporting are critical features.
We will be continuing to use mailchimp for now and after many years of usign Pipedrive will now be looking to move to CRM that has good Campaign management.0 -
I want to chime in as well:
This is your own marketing slogan for Campaigns:
"Create seamless workflows by combining CRM and email marketing software"This is bordering on false advertisement - the basic functionality of signing up for a newsletter requires me to use:
- Mailchimp as the initial DOI provider
- Zapier to transfer the contacts to pipedrive
- Finally pipedrive to send email campaigns
Would you describe this as a "seamless workflow"? Honestly, I feel extremely ripped off by pipedrive - this is not a quality of life kind of feature, it is an absolute essential. It is so essential, I didn't even bother testing it when I started my campaigns trial because in my wildest dreams I couldn't imagine an email marketing tool actually charging money without it.
The thing that really gets me:
Why not at least expose the Double Optin feature in an automation workflow?? If a user is able to click the button manually in the contact page, how come it can't be automated somehow?
