Lead Source report. Lead source and deals reporting

You would need to create the field on the lead first
Once the field is there, you need to figure out a way to have this field auto-populated when new leads are being created.
This will enable you to report on the Lead Source

If it's your team that generates most of the leads, do what @Boris Tsibelman recommended above: set up a single-choice custom field that would be required to fill each time a new lead is added.
If the majority of leads are coming via your website, this field needs to be filled automatically by a tool. If you're using Outfunnel to connect a supported web form (Gravity, Wix, Facebook Lead Ads, Mailchimp Forms, ContactForm7 or Elementor) to Pipedrive, lead source gets filled automatically. There are other tools that can do that eg. Attributer.

Thank you! Let me get with my web + Pipedrive team and try it out.

Hi, our leads come from the site via API. Required fields: source and label are set up and assigned to the lead automatically. However, when a lead is transferred to a deal, both the tag and the source are reset and passed empty.
Is it possible to automatically inherit the source of the lead and tag into the deal?

Thanks Boris. But which report then allows you to track this custom lead/deal field? I've tried to build a few but none seems to be tracking it.

Hi @Susan , not sure what plan you're on but reporting includes "Segment by" option. See screenshot where the variable is something other than lead source but you could use the deal source as a variable there just as easily.
