Is it better to put all products into one pipeline?

I have essentially what are two products. Currently I have each product's deals in its own pipeline. Recently I've been thinking to put all deals into one pipeline. Are there any pros and cons to one approach over the other? The deal steps are essentially identical. My reason for separate pipelines was originally so that I could report on each product separately.

    If the deal steps are identical, its probably better to keep it all in 1 pipeline, and then use a custom field on the deal to determine which product your selling on that deal.
