Importing creates Deals.. I am not adding a deal field.. why, how?
I am trying to import 25,000 named individuals and around 15,000 companies. Everything works fine. Companies are created in Pipedrive and the individual people are added to those companies and it looks great. But for each company and person a new "Deal" is created automatically. I do not want this.
I am importing from a spreadsheet which is close to 3Mb in size and has a line entry for each person and many of them have the same company in a company column. Pipedrive nicely sorts this out for me.
I have added a company "index number" so that I can import a contact history later mapped to this number. There are about 150,000 entries in this second spreadsheet. I am terrified that this will create another 150,000 deals automatically.
I have been very careful not to select any "deal" fields in the spreadsheet mapping when setting up the import as instructed. I have only used fields from "Person" and "Organisation". No "Deal" or "Lead" fields were used. I needed to create a few custom fields, but I made sure these were only added to the "Person" and "Organisation" tables.
How can I force it so that no Deals are set up automatically??
Thanks, Thomas
But there are no deals showing in the contact list:

Hi @Thomas.Dahl
If you add a filter for Contacts or Orgs, "Has open deals" will any entity show up? Could you also attach a screenshot of the Import mapping?
The easiest way to fix this is to probably just force-delete all the open deals with bulk edit. Its sloppy, but gets the work done i guess if you want them gone.0 -
This is mostly an issue with how the import was set up.
