Contact import issues

Hello,
I imported 40 contacts into Pipedrive using an Excel document. In the Excel doc, I created a custom data field to be imported with each contact. I mapped it on the fields during import. However, when I check the individual contacts, the data field is there, but the content is not populating for each contact. Also, when I import the contacts, it creates a separate deal for each contact when I just need them all to be associated with the same deal/organization. How can I get the custom field to populate for each contact and for them all not to have a separate deal developed for each contact?

    Hi Meli, if your contacts import created deals but you meant to only create contacts and link them to organizations, you might have mapped one or more Deal type fields, which resulted in generating those deals.

    You’ll need to use the organization system ID feature to import and map a contact person to an existing organization. You can find out how it works in this Knowledge Base article.
