Deals are recurring customers our team contacts weekly. Best way to set up or automate?
Hey everyone!
We're fairly new to Pipedrive and still in the earlier building stages before we go live. We've been working on set-up and automation, but have been running into a snag.
Our customer accounts order from us weekly, and I'm having trouble getting Deals to work in such a way (as they seem intent on "dropping off" after a deal has been Won or Lost). Ultimately, we want a sales rep to see every Deal as one of their customers, and be able to see what stage that customer is in for that week (Contacted, Preordered new products, Placed an order, etc). Then, at the end of the week the Deals would ideally refresh so our reps can start the next week ready to contact their customers all over again.
I'm hoping for some insight on how we can get our Deals to behave in such a fashion. I've done a bit of experimentation in having Deals automatically set up an Activity for the following week after the customer places an order, but without much success.
Are there any resources that would point me in the right direction? Surely, we can't be the only business that has recurring customer accounts that need to be contacted every week/month!
Thanks!

Hi @Dan Marshall , welcome to PIpedrive and to the Community, we're happy to have you with us! 🙂
I took the liberty of adding some additional relevant tags to your post to increase visibility, so it can reach more members here who can help you. Speaking of which: @Marco Govoni , @Amit Sarda do you have any tips or best practices you'd like to help Dan with?

Hi @Dan Marshall , can you explain better your case? I don't understand one point: are you assuming that deal == customer?

Hey Dan I saw your comment on my poll in the community, You should check out Simplii, they are on the marketplace, they are so solid, Haven't had any issue with them, Local tech support and have been great to work with. They have so many cool features that integrate right into Pipedrive.

Hi Marco,
I apologize for not seeing your comment earlier. Since I left this post, we've been readjusting the way we think of Deals. Overall, we were (are) looking for a way for Deals to recur automatically, because our same Customers potentially order from us weekly.
Example: Drew works with 50 retailers (all are Organizations under his ownership). The expectation is that Drew calls all 50 retailers each week to get them to reorder our products. Right now, every time Drew calls one of his retailers, I ask him to create a Deal for that customer. If the customer places an order, he marks it as Won. I also want him to set the deal to rot in 6 days (I assume this automatically marks it as Lost after 6 days?), so that we can understand how many of his 50 customers ordered from us in a given week.
However, I'd like to build in some more automation here.
1) I'd love for a Deal to be created automatically every time Drew dials that customer through his Activity scheduler (each of his customers already have a block of time on his calendar for a call each week through his Outlook calendar). Is there a way a Deal can be created automatically when a scheduled Call activity starts?
2) We have a "Last Sale" custom field for our Organizations. I'd love for Last Sale to updated with today's date every time a Deal for that customer is Won.
Let me know if that makes sense, and I appreciate you fielding my question!
