Advice on Importing leads

I am importing leads via data import and whilst some leads have an activity due date, others do not. When I import the spreadsheet, any lead that had an empty activity due date field, is automatically given today's date as the next activity. Is there any way to stop this? 
 

Second question, I would like to automate the system so that when a lead is tagged as being at a certain 'stage', then it automatically becomes a Deal in pipedrive. is this possible?
