A way for reps to get notified when a new contact is assigned to them.

Hello,

I have recently set up a workflow so that way when one of our reps gets assigned a new contact, they get notified via email saying: You have been assigned " John Doe " Login to Pipe drive to check it out.

But What i wish was possible is we could include a link to the contact in the email.

So it would be like You have been assigned " John Doe " Click here to see Contact: https://pipedrive.com/people/xxxxxxx

Curious to see if anyone else would find this useful!

    Hi @Bronson Cooper !

A slight adjustment to your automation can get you very close to it. If in your email body you include something like the example below:

    image
Green: your unique Pipedrive company URL with "/person" to indicate it's a person path. Red: the placeholder field for that person's unique ID, which you can get by typing brackets [] and scrolling down the list to pick which variable field you want.

The email received will have a direct link to that contact.

Keep in mind that because you used a placeholder field in your email body and those require a space before, the actual ID (the 1310 in the image) comes separated by a space too, so you have to copy the whole thing manually and when you paste it into your browser, remove the space for it to work. But hey, you can even include that instruction in the template email.

Hope that makes your like a little easier! 😉

@Inês Batata I have tried that, but I keep getting [ Person ID ] in the email instead of their number. ( 1310 )

Did you have to create the person ID as a custom field? or is that something already built within Pipedrive?

    Let me know thanks.

FYI i have tried the following:

    https://i4solutions.pipedrive.com/person/ [Person ID]

    https://i4solutions.pipedrive.com/person/ [PersonID]

    https://i4solutions.pipedrive.com/person/[Person ID]

    https://i4solutions.pipedrive.com/person/[PersonID]

The [PersonID] is the correct field, but you have to select it from the drop-down menu that appears when you type the first bracket; you're not supposed to write it manually. Check if that's what you're doing.

Creating a custom field won't help and will only cause confusion.

If after that the problem persists, I recommend you reach out to our Support team so they can help you troubleshoot further, I think you're almost there :)  How can I contact Pipedrive Support?

I can also tell you that maybe in the future we'll have a feature that will do this automatically.
