Thank you for this feedback! I totally agree, labels/tags are a brilliant way to organize pretty much everything and this idea isn't lost on us either.
The good news is that we're adding multiple label support shortly. We start from adding it to deals very soon - actually if everything goes according to plan, then you should already see them by the end of next week.
After this we'll start working on adding them to Persons and Organizations as well, can't promise on an exact date yet but first half of this year.

Additionally, it would be nice to allow multiple options versus only single for this category.

I'm here to +1 this idea too!! We need this! I want to mark more than one label for deals to color code them on the visual deal board. I did create a custom field with multiple selections, but it does not color code the deal boxes. Pipedrive please add this feature!

Make "Label" a "multiple options" data type; this is a minor technical change, but it can significantly impact productivity for Advanced and Essential users.
This can improve Workflow Automation, insights and Bulk actions.

Multiple Label capability for the People records is a no-brainer, I don't see that it is available yet as of April 3, 2023, am I correct?

Since this feature request has major support and it has been discussed here since at least 2020 on this thread it sounds like it is not a "simple change" otherwise it would have already happened? Pipedrive is that correct?

Any Updates PipeDrive? It's been over 3 years.
I feel this is very crucial and standard at the CRM where I came. I want to make PD work but may switch the organisation I just joined to another platform if this doesn't get sorted. I'm doing it with custom fields now but that is a little limited and invites input mistakes

+1 for me. Sales team require this. Surprised to find this is not an option as it is inconsistent with the leads/deals streams.
