Please Pipedrive (@Mike van der Valk , @MONA_36 ), Any news on the development?
We would very much welcome this functionality - we think it is essential in the type of software that calls itself Customer Relationship Management (CRM). It is not only about our relationship with the customer, but it is also about the relationships of customers (contacts) with each other. This is an important feature!
I would hate to invent my own system using custom fields. Pipedrive should support this "by design". So that once you add this feature, I had to redo everything.
Even local czech CRM Raynet supports this. You can link People to multiple other Organizations - they call it "Links to other Organizations" and in addition to your the link to another organization, you can add a short description (!) to that link - such as "former employee", "external consultant", etc. It's super useful.
When will you finally add it too?

Hi @Manuel Fernandez de Canete , this is not yet possible, in the mean time you can best create an "organization type" of custom field under the contact persons: https://support.pipedrive.com/hc/en-us/articles/207228075-Custom-Fields. You can call this for example "second org" then you can save a second org on the contact person details.
Our team is already looking into this and investigating how it can be further improved. I will be sure to register your feedback 📝

It's evident that PipeDrive isn't concerned with customer feedback; they must be doing quite well not to care. It's time to look for an alternative solution. Migrating will be painful, but I know when to move on. It's the little things that have the most significant impact. For everyone else, once I find a suitable alternative, I'll give you a recommendation.

We need this feature ASAP.
We deal with cleaning for a group of Ford car dealerships, and they all have the same manager. Linking them together isn't necessary, so one of the workarounds mentioned above (adding custom fields for multiple addresses) works for this case because they're all the same company. In another case however, we're contracted for a management company to take care of cleaning for different companies and have one parent contact for the MANY various businesses/companies we clean for. I wouldn't want to have that long list of custom field addresses under the same parent contact, I'd want to be able to instead link that parent contact to the different organizations.
This discussion has been requested and unresolved for years...

From early on in the thread of this request, I got the sense to make this change would have major impact to the overall architecture of the application. Apparently, it's not a Trivial update. But that has to be weighed against the customers that feel this is make it or break it requirement. I'm disappointed that it isn't even being rationally discussed with the user-base. Lack of communication can kill a company and their product.
Professionally, I would find this feature to be useful, but it isn't enough of a requirement to 'throw the baby out with bath water', so to speak.

@TomMumf I would guess, that early days they tied the unique identifier of the database to the email address which was common practice back in the day, the issue is its not a great way when comes to things like this. Having said that, the organisation should not be dependant on that, and should not be hard to like a contact id to multiple organisations. Would be good for admin to actually have a chat about it though.

We have recently started working with Pipedrive. It's amazing how easy it is to use. However, the feature mentioned above would be of great value. We work with property owners that have multiple locations and have separate contracts and administrations for all companies.... Any break through?

I speak at a lot of events run by volunteers. That means they run their association as a side job, and have a paying job. I need to be able to track the people through the association they run but also through their primary organization. Pipedrive tech support has let me know the system doesn't allow people to be associated with more than one organization. When I connect them to one organization, then they get bumped off the other organization. We've been tracking the voluntary organizations as a custom field, but its really not working well, as there is a lot of data to track against the volunteer organization that we lose when its just treated as a add on field. How have folks addressed this problem?

Plus one for this issue. We have people who are responsible for multiple branches so being able to link multiple branches to the same person is essential.

I just ran into the need for this today. Two different companies (one a prospect; the other a customer) have my contact as SVP of one and President & COO of the other.
I wish Pipedrive wouldn't go dark on this, rather explain to us that it can't be done (maybe there are trade-offs that they feel are unacceptable), but not addressing each and every comment herein is what I call "going dark" on the issue. Not a good way to be perceived.

Couldn’t of said better. This is a simple function that needs to be taken seriously. Along with automations needing to be able to be set team wide rather than each user. It is disappointing that they seem to be non responsive.

Yep, I'am already waiting 3 years for it. It's not a nice to have but a must have.

We deal with Real Estate Brokers who obviously belong to their own company, but can be the main contact for various Organizations. To get around this I made an "Organization" custom field, for us I called it "Main Contact", so then that Broker can be connected to as many Organizations as needed.
The issue still remains though, that if I do a filter under People, the Organizations that don't have an actual "Person" attached to them (because they are using a Broker), won't show up in the filter. To get around this I had to also create a "Person" custom field under the Broker that I can input the Organization and then make sure I include that column in the filter. It works, but it is a pain because if the Broker represents more than one Organization I have to create multiple custom fields (ie Tenant Rep 1, Tenant Rep 2 etc.).

I have people who work for a company (possible client) and belong to a local association chapter (possible client). To help me I have created the chapter name and related information in the people section so I can sort on them. Klugy but works.

Oh wow, I only realized now that this feature is missing. Many of our clients represent multiple companies... now we have to accept duplicates in our database. I am looking forward to an update on this feature

- Edit the headline/topic of the discussion accordingly. Because in this case, for example, discussions were merged that involved "mentions" in LEADs, mentions of PERSONs (not just USERs), etc.
- Keep and sum/tally vote ups from individual threads.

Such a simple thing, and so useful. It solves so many things:
- people changing jobs, leaving projects,..
- working at multiple companies
- working in a structure (e.g. university > faculty > institute)
- etc etc.
